GOSPEL SOUTH AMERICA

A Vision for South America

How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed?
And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard?
And how shall they hear without a preacher?
And how shall they preach unless they are sent?
As it is written:
“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”

-Romans 10:14-15

Around 9 years ago, God lead me on a trip that I did not want to initially be a part of. It was a mission trip to South America. Through that trip God began to call me to be a pastor and a missionary. He placed in my heart to feed the sheep with the Word of God, and to share the blessing I had received at my church back in the states with those who did not have a place to know God as I did. I started a website six years ago called Gospel South America because that was the vision. Reach South America with a vision to plant healthy Bible Teaching churches that would love and feed the people, and impact their communities, regions and beyond. This is the fulfillment of that vision.

Over the past year, that desire has been becoming a reality. With the backing and blessing of our home churches, Saving Grace World Mission and CCBC Peru we are excited to launch GOSPEL SOUTH AMERICA.
Please read our vision and mission statement here:

GOSPEL SOUTH AMERICA

Vision

Mission Statement: Gospel South America is dedicated to fulfilling the command of Jesus to preach the gospel to the whole world, and to make disciples of all nations through the planting of healthy Bible-teaching churches throughout South America and the world.

Our Heart:  At GSA we hope to see God raise up passionate and dedicated servants of Jesus who love Him with all their heart and want to live entirely for Him. Our primary focus is the training & equipping of pastors and missionaries to plant churches throughout South America.

Our Who: Our Ministry base is in Trujillo, Peru and we are currently working with Peruvian nationals as well as Venezuelan refugees who have fled their country due to the crisis back home. We hope to train these nationals and refugees to be the future leaders in their countries and throughout all of South America. We also are hoping to see more and more international students who have a heart to make disciples and plant churches throughout the world.

Our How: The local church and Bible Training Center will work side by side to reach, disciple and equip. The GSA Training Center will include three phases aimed to see people grow, flourish, and bear much fruit to the glory of God.

Phase 1 is a live-in discipleship house with daily devotions, small group Bible studies, prayer times, as well as practical service, personal discipleship and  evangelism through the local church while they continue to work and live in their city.

Phase 2 is our Bible College that will be a full-time program filled with Bible courses, practical service, mission trips, teaching opportunities, and more as they become rooted and grounded in the Word of God.

Phase 3 is our School of Ministry and the heart of GSA. Our SoM will emphasize the preparation of pastors, church planters, and missionaries. Those who are called to the ministry and enroll in the program will do a 1 year mentorship style training utilizing specific curriculum that will focus on preparing missionaries and church planters. They will be involved in church leadership, leading mission trips, regular teaching in public settings, and special projects to help prepare them to start new works throughout out South America and the world.

His Result:

GSA hopes to see:

– People who love Jesus and are passionately devoted to Him.

– Mature believers who are rooted in the truth of God’s Word.

– Servants who are prepared for every good work.

– Church planters and missionaries who are equipped to start healthy new works.

– Bible teaching churches lovingly and faithfully feeding God’s flock throughout South America.

– Dynamic and healthy ministries impacting and transforming their communities, cities and regions.

– A pastoral support system that allows both international and national missionaries to not only survive, but flourish in both and life and ministry. We want to set up our missionaries for success, and are invested in their well-being.

A BURDEN FOR THE LOST

A Burden for The Lost

Last night I received a message from someone in our church who is from Venezuela, and he hadn’t been able to communicate with his family for almost 30 hours. There is currently no electricity in the country. No cell towers, no internet, etc. The hospitals are being greatly affected, and people have died. He is obviously concerned, and asked that we pray.

A few days ago, I read an article that the Jews are getting very serious about rebuilding a synagogue on the temple mount. They are questioning why they ever ceded control of their most holy site. Every single item has been created for a new temple. We see a temple in the great tribulation in books like Daniel and Revelation.

In Luke 21:24 Jesus is predicting the destruction of the temple, and he says something absolutely amazing: “And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.”

When Jerusalem is no longer trampled by Gentiles, time is up. The only part they do not control right now is the temple mount. The reality that Jesus could come back at any moment has never sunk into my heart before like it has in these past few days. I looked around, and thought do these people know Jesus? We are talking about eternity, heaven and hell, and the opportunity is almost gone. What I am doing about it???

A few months ago a dear brother saw what was going on in Venezuela, and very pointedly asked me: Cory, What are you doing about the situation in Venezuela? The reality is we are doing something, our church is full of refugees, and we were discipling them and helping them. But, there was more to be done. I’m thankful for the challenge and the push.

A few years ago, I was in Israel and Greece. I got to meet and work with refugees. There was such a desperation for God among them, there was an awakening happening and there was an amazing open door for discipleship. I wanted to stay. I had offers and opportunities. Someone offered a location among Iraqi refugees where I would just disciples and train non-stop. I was so excited to work with refugees. Then God made it clear to continue in South America. I knew it was God’s will, but I was a bit sad.

Then a year ago, we started in Trujillo. We believed this was the continuation of God’s calling to plant churches in South America. We wanted to see healthy churches that teach God’s Word and love and feed the people. The interesting thing was how Trujillo quickly became a capital for refugees. Venezuelan refugees who were fleeing their Communist dictator who was destroying their county. God was bringing the refugees to me. Wow.

With that, we are excited to launch a new ministry, called GOSPEL SOUTH AMERICA. We see an open door that God has set before us. We do not have a lot of resources or people, you might say we just a little strength, but we believe we have kept God’s Word and not denied His name. We are excited to walk through this open door, and we want to invite you to be a part of what God is doing through GOSPEL SOUTH AMERICA.

Celebrating 5 Years on the Mission Field!

Celebrating 5 years In te field in South America-3

Celebrating 5 Years!

Five years ago we left home with a few suitcases, the promises of God, and not much else. Now we are celebrating 5 years on the mission field in South America with our two Peruvian children, and we praise God for His faithfulness!

We have had the privilege to serve Jesus all over the globe, meet many amazing people, and see our family and ministry grow above and beyond what we could ever imagine.

We thank God and everyone who has helped along the way. We could not have done this alone, and we are so grateful for your love, prayer, encouragement and support!

We look forward to many more years serving Jesus, bringing the gospel and making disciples. As the ministry grows our heart is to see the Word of God preached and taught all over South America. We hope to raise up pastors, missionaries, and servants of God who will be ready and willing to to serve Him wherever He leads. Please pray for  faithfulness, strength, new believers, discipleship, pastors, leaders, open doors, God’s provision, and much fruit to the glory of God!

Thank you, and we love you all very much!
